FUNDING

In addition to board members, private donations from audience members and residents of the Waupaca area communities are a source of income for the organization. Any amount is welcome.

Program sponsorship is an important income source. The Academy invites individuals or groups/organizations to sponsor and underwrite presentations in which they have a special interest. A gift of $350 helps cover the speaker and associated costs; Winchester then acknowledges the donor in media publicity and thanks them publicly at the program. If you are interested in being a program sponsor, contact the executive director or a board member.

Special events intended for general community participation and specifically geared to fund-raising purposes are another source of income. Examples are the spring dinner/dance fest and jazz ensembles/concerts of past years.

Foundation grants have been another means of support in the past, but they are diminishing in the current economic climate. We have received a small planning grant from the Waupaca Community Foundation in the past, but statewide sources have become virtually non-existent. It is the public that keeps the Academy alive and productive.
